Well designed and constructed products. I love that they took their approach from sunglasses and applied it to socks!
Their marketing is great and I truly appreciate the communication from them as a company, gives a more personal feel at least for me.
Their customer service is very responsive and helpful.
When I bought my first set of "Sloan" glasses from William Painter I was satisfied. The arm broke about 5 months later, but their "lifetime warranty" is supposedly really good, so I wasn't worried about it. I paid the $25 restocking fee and got my second pair of sloans. 2 months later the arm broke on those as well. Well freak, these seem to break quite easily! I went to get my second warranty replacement and they had upped their price to $50 for restocking. I spent the $50 elsewhere on some Toroe range glasses (which will now be my permanent set of shades). Somehow I was able to reach someone in customer support who bumped my price down to $25 once again. Within a week of very light use of these glasses the arm has broken once again. I am severely disappointed in the brand, and the false advertising that they provide. The warranty isn't free, you are paying probably 3 times the amount that they put into the glasses just to restock them. I'm not sure if it is just a severe, horrible defect of the sloan lenses, but it is no longer worth my time to even bother with this company. I am so salty about it that I won't even consider buying their socks, or soap, or any other product advertised by the funny man with golden locks. Go buy a different pair of sunglasses.
I've not only purchased their sunglasses, but also their blue light glasses, socks, beanie and t-shirts. I'm a clumsy person; dropping glasses, spill on my shirts, etc., and every product I own still looks the same as the day I bought them. I couldn't be happier with their products nor their amazing costumer service! You will not be disappointed.
I’ve had William painters for the past three years. And I have to say they are freakin awesome!!! Never had a problem with the glasses them self, but have heard incredible things about customer service for repairs and returns. I highly recommend this brand . And would definitely buy again!
Sloan - Polarized / Black
First I want to say these the balance and fit of these glasses are great, they are comfortable to have on all day and you forget they are there. The build quality however seems to be lacking. I have had the same issue twice now with one of the temple pieces just coming off and having to request warranty in less than 2 years. I am not hard on these and they normally end up back in the case after use. Seems like they are held to the main frame by a pressure fit that just fails with a pop noise when you put them on, at which point you need to pay a shipping fee to get a new pair. I would expect 1 a $200 product to have a bit more life than 9 months and second you tout the hinges being so strong but if the parts connected to them can't keep it together then a durable hinge is worthless. I would think instead of a pressure fit that fails a screw would be better.
I don’t think this glass is Titanium because is very heavy is not comfortable to wear. Also I try use magnate it stick the glass. Made in China for the price of $299 no worth it piece of garbage. We need more people post the bad comment of their amazon account so less people fall in the scam . If Somebody can send glass to laboratory to test if is real Titanium of the frame.
Lifetime Guarantee SCAM! After 14 days no matter what happens they will charge you $49 for a new pair.
They justify it as:
Restocking and processing at our warehouse.
The cost of shipping out a brand new pair to you every time.
My lens peeled in a couple months and they tried to charge me $49 for a new pair when the glasses are already $299.
It's not a Lifetime Guarantee - it's replacement policy that costs $49 if anything happens to your glasses after 14 days.
Totally misleading and I wouldn't spend the money on these glasses as you can see from other reviews the build quality is just terrible.
I love the glasses but they scratched after 6 months of use. When I tried to exchange using the warranty they said the following "If the glasses were delivered over 14 days ago then they are no longer eligible for a refund or complimentary exchange!
Please note under our Lifetime Guarantee policy you will need to pay a $49 processing and handling fee. We then cover the cost to ship the brand new pair out to you!"
What a scam! I can buy 4 pairs of sunglasses for similar quality on Amazon for with that processing fee alone.
Very disappointed customer here who was duped by there "Life-time Scam Warranty"
Their ads are absolute garbage spam and an insult to average intelligence
I have ordered it and it arrived in 3 days, wow I thought it was blazingly fast courier from USA to Australia. Once the product is arrived, I have noticed that a sticker was there saying "Made in China" plus a white glue or some white stuff on the border of the glass, I had to wipe it out before using it. I am not sure it is what it has advertised.
The polarised is good but I kinda feel RayBan has better one.
Can't test the frame as it is made in China haha.
